venues are ok. The bands do get better as the weekend goes on.
It’s a good festival. They have jazz bands playing Thursday to Sunday I️ believe. The bands play in bars throughout town and throughout the day.
Tickets do seem to sell out for Friday and Saturday.
We enjoyed out Thursday at the convention center and Friday at the high school.
Can I just say I had the most AMAZING time this weekend. This was my weekend to reconnect with God in a special way through music. I was healed and thrilled by all the performances. Got in early Friday from DC. I saw Jazzmeia Horn first. Effortlessly akin to Ella Fitzgerald. This young lady was a phenomenon in her own right. Saw her at the Sea salt. It was a nice venue reminiscent of a Jazz Club. Next The New Breed Brass Band from NO. Loved their energy and style. They were at a bar about a 5 min drive from Sea salt. Like everything else all the venues were almost within walking distance of each other with the exception of Gregory Porter. He was at a local High school auditorium that had the best sound and acoustics a vocalist could hope for. He is the reason I went to Exit Zero and I am so glad I Did! Overall it was well organized. The staff was friendly. It was easy to navigate being from out of town and an added bonus having the fest off season. You didn't have to fight with the tourist and the locals are rather pleasant! I got the HOPS PASS which allowed access to all the local clubs/bars. But i dont think anyone would have stopped me if i didnt have it as I saw lots of locals going in without it who had no issues. Could have saved $55...lol. But it's all good. Exit Zero has an eternal fan here. It's now on my list of things I must do every year.

If you love the Jazz and Blues Music, then you'll love the Exit0 Inernational Jazz Festival. I attend every Spring and Fall and have only missed 1 and have regretted not going to it ever since. This spring looks to be another outstanding weekend of Music. John Scofield, Pat Metheny and Ron Carter in the same afternoon! Folks its heaven for Jazz guitar lovers. Mike Kline the beloved organizer of the event always finds a way to make it better and better by presenting the Festival Audience season after season with World Class Jazz and we Love him and cannot thank him enough for that!
They also have concerts in the convention center and also in the local high school.
