The short of the long: good, not great. My wife and I went out for a special dinner while on vacation. We ditched the kids and, my wife being from the area originally, recommended this restaurant. The decor is awesome, and it's a big place. We went late and didn't have to wait for a table which was nice. It was dimly lit and cozy. They specialize in seafare, with the prices to boot. But I found it a bit underwhelming. The service was attentive and pleasant, but the dishes were...uninspired? They felt like they were indeed prepared for tourists and vacationers rather than people who actually care about their meal. Listen, maybe the chef had a bad night. We'd definitely try them again. I just hope the kitchen staff finds their...passion to cook again.
Really great and fresh food. We ate at the Raw Bar and ordered half a dozen oysters on a half she'll and half a dozen of blue crabs. The oysters were shucked right in front of you and plated on ice with lemon wedges and sauce. They were so good! The crabs were sweet and succulent, and seasoned with old bay. The food was so good that we came back for dinner. Worth coming back for. The price is very affordable.
Great place for the best seafood for the holidays. I got there and was #34 and they were serving #12. Only took 10 to 15 minutes to get to me. Beautiful shrimp, scallops, many fish fillets, lobsters, salads and soups. Reasonable prices too. Good stuff.
I am always amazed how well this restaurant handles their large crowds. I have visited two times in the last two weeks and both occasions have been a delight! The food was terrific with service to match. Best blue cheese dressing and the complimentary bread is delicious. All the staff is friendly, look professional and are very attentive. I applaud this well run restaurant!
Great dining experience! Love the raw bar deck. Relaxed & breezy outdoor deck, with food choices of raw seafood, burgers, lobster bake & more. We look forward to the Lobster House every summer, several times a summer! Inside dining is casual yet elegant with very good service & great food. Love the Lobster House Special with lobster, shrimp & scallops in a garlic sauce over linguine!
