Pop was told he needed a completely new service from the demark (where the electric enters the house) and given a detailed estimate of over $5,000. This immediately set off flags in the family and we began contacting people with a knowledge of electrical work and/or were electricians with their own businesses. Without coming out to look at what the house to evaluate the problem (so they did not know IF a full service replacement was needed or not) they each told us $5,000 was a ridiculously high price for the estimate we showed them.
Never used them, never will. I called to give them a job today and they wanted to charge me a $70 service fee simply to come talk to me about it. This wasn't a call for an estimate, I was going to give them the work. I deal with LOTS of vendors (plumbers, electricians, HVAC guys, you name it) for my B&B and none of them charge me to talk about a job. These guys really blew it with me.
It just got better when Patrick came to my door. I have had Patrick in my home before and knew he did great work in a very professional manner.
What kind of person takes advantage of an old man like this???

We called Dusty to tell him what a scum he was and he would not return our calls.
We did have someone come take a look at the problem later that day. He replaced two circuit breakers- less than $50. Issue solved.
